The Ancient Art of Feng Shui Series – Part 3

April 20, 2017 Posted by admin Uncategorized

How and Why Feng Shui Cures Work
Last month, we talked about areas of life individuals may want to improve:  wealth/money; marriage/partnership; health; career; fame/reputation; family; children; helpful people; and knowledge.  Were you able to set some time aside since our last post to examine your own life and determine which area you would like to improve?   Feng Shui cures are simple adjustments you make to your environment that positively shift the energy (chi) of your home and within you, which results in your life becoming more balanced in mind, body and spirit.

Your bed location, for instance, affects many areas of your life, including your health.  The bed exists as a foundation for rest, health, and relationships or marriage.  If the chi of the adults suffer, so can the energy of the children.  Making shifts or changes in the master bedroom can improve the status of your marriage or your relationship with a significant other or your business partnerships, or improve your health.

The placement of your office desk dictates how you sit and appear and how you interact with the people and energy entering your office.  Using the Feng Shui Octagon  can help you determine which area(s) of your office you need to make changes to to bring balance or improvements to a specific area of your life.

The kitchen stove is vital for your health and your finances.   The energy flow in the kitchen, the mood of the cook, etc. contributes to how food affects you.   Food universally symbolizes health and nourishment.   The Chinese make a further connection by saying that food also relates to money (meaning the strength to earn money).

Adding a water feature near the home’s entrance helps usher wealth energy into the home.  An octagonal gazebo can boost the wealth, fame, and marriage life areas.  A curving walkway with colorful flowers creates energy along the pathway.

Color cures are a powerful way to change a mood or activate the emotions and subconscious mind for success.  Blue in a child’s bedroom stimulates both growth and intelligence.

You can also use Feng Shui principles to:  energize your home’s exterior; help you during your home-selection process to find a better home; and adjust your personal internal energy.

There are a number of resources available about Feng Shui.  My two favorites are:

Feng Shui for Dummies by David Daniel Kennedy

The next steps are up to you.   As with any practice that requires a level of improvement, it can be overwhelming.  Feng Shui is no different.  There are many components and tools you can use.   I highly recommend you choose one area to focus on and apply the principles/cures for that area and then go on to the next area of your life you would like to improve.  Don’t give up!  Take one area at a time.

Remember, you must have a clear, strong intention behind each Feng Shui cure you peform.  You must know exactly what you want to change or improve in your life and why.   Good luck!   My hope is that our broad overview of Feng Shui has intrigued you as well and prompts you to take action to create overall balance, harmony and prosperity in your own life!
